SHIELDED
Feeling a little fearful or need some peace??
If you are like me, you can’t help but feel overwhelmed at times with all that’s going on in this world we are living in.
It’s safe to say this world clearly wasn’t intended for our perfection but seems more like a battlefield at times, which points to the fact that armor is not only appropriate, but downright necessary; even more specifically the armor of God that Paul talks about in Ephesians 6:11 where he said, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” The dang devil. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
Ergo, the importance of armor.
And safe to say, no ordinary armor is going to protect us against the battle Ephesians 6:12 speaks of.
The shield of faith is just one of 6 pieces of armor Paul refers to, but it’s an important one all the same. Faith is required right from the get go of even starting a relationship with God...believing in someone you’ve never even touched or seen, much less knowing anyone that has for that matter; however, faith in Christ is what justifies us and even opens the door to peace and grace. “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2 NKJV
Heaven knows moments of peace are few and far between these days with conspiracy theories that in another life seemed flat crazy but now seem too close for comfort;the high demanding rat race of life in general; an array of very loud and vocal contrasts to what this country was founded on; unexpected threats like the Coronavirus, sickness, loneliness, etc. You can simply be witness to a lot of these things without it actually even hitting home while still feeling like the burden is just about more than you can bear.
“As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” ”
